What you learn on our Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy Course

There are lots of short hypnosis training courses around but there is a reason why our hypnotherapy diploma is a year long. And we thought we would share that with you – Its to do with what science tells us about how we learn best.

Within Sight are committed to ensure our graduates from the hypnotherapy diploma are powerful agents of change, yet safe and effective therapists. Our students leave our fold with a consolidated body of knowledge that they can flexibly apply to help people overcome a huge variety of problems. It is my belief that you can learn hypnosis in a a short period but to be a truly great therapist you have to build a knowledge of many other skills; and that takes time.’

Jill Wootton | Director Within Sight

At Within Sight, we think helping our students to learn easily is  important. And so we researched how people learn best. Here is a nugget of information about learning: Did you know that it is important to get a good night’s sleep after learning something new? That’s in order to process and retain the new information?

We learn naturally by absorbing a piece of information then sleeping on it. In that process, the knowledge we gained through the day begins to go to a different part of the brain. The part that allows for an integrated, natural retrieval. Science shows that when you are learning, its day by day and sleep by sleep that your brain build a data base of knowledge that enables you to access an intuitive data base of skills. Which is vital when you are wanting to think on  your feet in a client session or during a difficult conversation.

The reason why our course spans ten months – During the course you will activate different parts of your learning brain through a combination of face to face lectures, observed practice, discussion, home practice, mentor support and on line learning. So add on all the sleeps over ten months, reflective assessment  and one to one practice we ensure you will be a confident, safe and powerful therapist, able to build a thriving practice. We ask you this question – ‘Would you have enough sleeps to do this in two weeks?
